Having somehow leveraged a summer job as a third-shift janitor into an IT job (true story), Dave has been part of the industry for more than 30 years, starting with his involvement in MIT’s Project Athena. Since then, Dave has worked in – and helped architect – many different data centers. He has been the lone IT-generalist, led teams, managed IT projects, developed and lead trainings, worked as an independent consultant, been a technical marketer, and worked for small startups, small to medium businesses, and large enterprises. Over the course of his career, Dave has worked with and been hands-on with almost every aspect of IT: hardware, software, data storage, networking, security, virtualization, and cloud.
Dave is currently looking for a new opportunity where he can put his experience and varied skillset to work to benefit an organization whose mission he believes in. He is currently accepting freelance technical writing projects while searching for this opportunity. Dave has a reasonable-sized following on social media. In his spare time he has volunteered in Scouting programs, and likes to make things, sometimes coding to create personal automations, other times working with paracord to create useful and decorative objects.
