John Freeman is an equity analyst at investment management firm Ravenswood Partners and possesses deep tech sector expertise and over twenty years of experience on both the buy-side (Ravenswood Partners, Samadhi Capital, and Sands Capital) and the sell-side (CFRA Research, Precursor) as an equity analyst covering companies across the tech sector, including specifically network equipment (Precursor) and software (CFRA). Prior to his career in the investment industry, John was an industry analyst, covering network equipment, network processors, and enterprise software. He has published several white papers on topics as varied as DSL line encoding schemes and virtual LAN (VLAN) technologies, as well as a 300+ page guide to network processors. John has appeared many times on CNBC Asia, Bloomberg, TD Ameritrade Network, and Ausbiz, covering various topics in technology, software, and equity investing. John graduated Harvard as an East Asian Studies major and fell backwards into tech in the early 90’s, selling and installing LAN’s, structured cabling, PC’s, servers, and software in Japan. In his spare time, John is working on a book entitled, Crazyman Tries to Pick Stocks That Go Up a Lot: Investing, Software, Moore’s Law, and Life.
