John holds a BS in engineering, and an MBA — both from schools you are
likely to find unimpressing. He lords these degrees over people while
teaching them the fundamentals of packet networking. This often occurs
even when people are disinterested, and are wondering why John is even
in the room with them.
John has attempted to help in the hinterland of the Internet for nigh 25
years. There have been times when networks that John has helped build
were able to bring happiness to end users.
John has recently bamboozled people to donate rack space, wavelengths,
equipment, labor, and power in order to build the ABQIX in downtown
Albuquerque, NM. Spanning three data centers, John hopes that it can
become a communication nexus in the southwest US.
